1. What were you asked to do? In this unit, we reviewed feedback from our peers and finalized our business cards with matching letterhead.
2. How did you respond to what you were asked to do? I reviewed the feedback from my peers and professor multiple times to make sure that I was producing materials that were improving.
3. How did react to what you actually did? I really enjoyed getting feedback and being able to use that to finalize my designs. I tried to incorporate ideas that each person gave me so that I could arrive at the best final product.
4. Now go one level deeper: Why do you think your reaction was what it was? I think it’s important to view your projects from the eyes of others, so I liked getting feedback before turning in a final draft. I also had a difficult time in the beginning as I created a business card, so hearing that people liked it and had good critiques was important to me.
Supplemental questions:
- Any long term goals for this design? Do you have any interest in actually pitching this to the organization?
- While I may not actually pitch this design to Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, I’m very happy with my final product and I would love to implement it with other organizations I’m involved in.
- Do you or do you not feel yourself becoming more confident with the tools you are being asked to used?
- I definitely feel that I am becoming more confident with tools such as InDesign.
- Is there anything you would do differently if you were to start over?
- If I were to start over, I would try to incorporate a different design for my text, especially on the front, but I felt like I couldn’t change the font of the CMNH logo or change it in too many ways.
