This week I was asked to begin the background research for the organization we are going to redesign. I was asked to analyze the organization and it’s competitors, primarily using Pinterest for visual representation.
In response, I thought this was a super fun and unique way to use Pinterest! Most of my PR classes so far have only used Twitter to integrate creativity and social media, but I was excited to get to be able to use images to convey my message. At first, I thought it would be difficult to find the right images to show my vision, but it was surprisingly easy to do. I thought that all the assignments that I was asked to do were relevant to understanding what the organization needed to be updated, new, and current.
I was really satisfied with my results working on the Pinterest boards because I found a lot of relevant and brand-specific content that I wasn’t expecting to find. I think my boards have cohesion and show the previous design elements that I want to build on. My business card on the other hand, needs a lot of work.. here’s my draft that I have so far.
I like the back of my business card as well as the font I’ve chosen, but the front could definitely be better and the overall image could be bolder.
I think my reaction to this week was the way that it was because I have high expectations for myself. When I go into doing a project I want to do the best that I can possibly do, and while I enjoyed the quality of my Pinterest boards, the beginning stages of my business card is a little rough. My reaction is this way because I know that with more time and effort it can significantly get better.
