My name is Shona Wilson and I am currently a junior at the University of Oklahoma studying public relations and enterprise studies. I’m from the suburbs of Dallas, Texas and I love traveling, dogs and spending time with friends! Along with being a full time student, I also work in retail.
I am a firm believer in the saying “everything happens for a reason” but I also believe everyone should be accountable for their actions. I try not to stress and overthink when situations arise and instead trust that being affected by said situation was meant to happen in order to succeed in the long run. With that being said, I am not one to place blame on others. I think it speaks very highly of someone’s character if they are accountable for their work, good or bad.
What guides and motivates me is my connections and relationships with people. This relates back to my beliefs in accountability because I consider myself to be a people-person. If I have people relying on me to get a task done, I am more excited and eager to get it done in a way that will go above and beyond someone’s original expectations.
Design fits into my life through professional and everyday aspects. I am constantly experimenting with graphics and imaging through digital mediums so that one day I can use them through my professional portfolio. In my retail job I help re-design our store space when new inventory comes in. Designing spaces and graphics are always fun experiences for me!
