This week we were asked to review the work of our peers, specifically their business cards. At first I was very nervous that my ability to design was far below par. The first design I reviewed was incredible after reviewing more however, I further realized that we just are all at different levels of design at this point. If anything, that design just further encouraged me to outperform my latest work and continue to get better.
In regards to the letter head assignment I am rather pleased with my work. I took a rather simplistic approach, I was under the assumption that the Academy’s design in regards to letter head would be rather straightforward, getting to the point. I simply used the logo as the counterpoint header and allowed myself to get creative with the content.
I decided to write a motivational letter to the staffers of the Academy, inspiring them to produce their best work leading up to the Oscars. I wrote from the perspective of Dawn Hudson, CEO of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. I actually really enjoyed writing the content of the letter even though I know that wasn’t the bulk of the assignment, it was what I found most enjoyable. It is my assumption that after reviewing what I wrote and realizing just how excited I do get about topics regarding the film & television industry, that I hope to indeed work in a related field one day.
