  1. In this unit, we were asked to create Direct Mailers for the University of Oklahoma to use recruiting students. We were asked to use PhotoShop to complete this design project.
  2. I was excited to work on these direct mailers for a client that we all know really well, but I was nervous to switch over to PhotoShop because I felt like I had just gotten comfortable with using InDesign.
  3. Once I started working on these mailers, I felt much better using Photoshop. I re-watched a few videos regarding Photoshop and those helped a lot as I began working.
  4. I think this was my reaction because I’ve never used applications like Photoshop and InDesign before this class, so it took me awhile to get comfortable with InDesign. With that being said, after learning InDesign, Photoshop came to me much faster than it did in the beginning.
  5. I do think that I’m becoming more comfortable with the tools we’re using. While there is a learning curve as we switch applications, it becomes easier to use them once you have that base knowledge.
  6. I think I prefer Photoshop to InDesign now because I’ve gotten to utilize tools with text and pictures a few times now and feel like it’s a little bit more user friendly after the initial learning curve.
  7. If I were to start over, I would try to better incorporate the text into the initial designs of my mailers.
