Type Connection, Type War, and Kern Type are games and quizzes designed to give you practice with different typography.
Type Connection is a fun game where you get to choose a font as the “main character” that best describes you. You pick different options about your work ethic and ideal date match. At the end these were my results:
It is designed to show you how different fonts make you think and feel about what the words are saying. I thought it was entertaining and helpful.
Type War was a trivia game that showed you different types of font and you had to guess which one you thought it was. This one was much harder for me. I realized that I am not very familiar with the different fonts when it comes to identifying them.
Kern Type was my favorite out of all the games. You are given a word and your job is to move the letters so that the word is pleasant to look at and easy to read. I found it fun. “Yvess” was my highest score. I thought it gave me a good perspective on the significance of spacing in words.
