For this blog post, we played several different typography games. My personal favorite was Shoot the Serif where we were challenged to choose serif fonts out of a sea of non-serif fonts. I thought this was a fun game because it challenged you to quickly choose and was upbeat. Next, I played Type War where we were given a letter and had to choose which font it was in. I thought this was interesting because I feel like I know the difference between several fonts but even in this game, there were several I didn’t know so it was fun to try to guess and keep your streak going as it tallied it. Lastly, I played Kern Type. In this game, you had to distribute space between the letters of a word. I am a huge perfectionist and love when things fit together so I found it enjoyable to try to place the letters evenly and see how my spacing compared to the way it was supposed to actually be laid out.
