For this assignment we were asked to gather pictures in order to create a full story, having the captions serve as the story telling aspect. Now I can pick up on how to make images flow as well as how to choose images that are relevant to the story you are trying to convey. I can also pick up on how to properly word cutlines in a way that sounds logical while remaining concise/relevant to what you are trying to portray through the image. Through this assignment, I was able to see the importance of images to a story because it could easily guide what readers think. I would like to know how PR professionals specifically use this skillset as opposed to using it in a journalistic aspect instead. On the other hand, this meets my expectations of a PR professional because they are the ones that are in charge of controlling the story. Through images, this can be manipulated. I could see this skillset helping me in my career if I ever need to select images to send to press or a media outlet/source on behalf of a brand/company.
