This past week we were tasked with many things including writing blog posts, creating a Pinterest account and starting work on our business card. In response to the assignments, I started with writing blog posts and then really began to think about the design for my business card with the help of Pinterest. After I had come up with some ideas I started to play around with them in InDesign to see what looks and works best.
My reaction was a bit mixed this week. The blog posts were fairly straight forward so I feel as though I completed those without any problems. When Pinterest came up I was a little uneasy because I had never used that website before. For some reason I had a feeling that it was going to be difficult to use but I could not have been more wrong. Minutes after creating my account I figured out how to pin items or create boards with no issues. The business card is what stands out for me this week. I have never created a business card before and I thought it was going to be easier than it was. What I mean by that is, all the ideas I have in my head don’t translate to the actual card like I think they would. For me, this project isn’t as simple as I originally thought. My reaction was this was because I know I can do better. I need to take time to make sure the card isn’t too cluttered and make sure all of the colors match. Luckily the final project isn’t due to day and I have time to make tweaks and changes.
