My hope is that creating a domain or blog has been a valuable experience for you and will be something you can use beyond PR Pubs. Write a blog post about how you plan to use the domain afterwards. Will it be something that you will utilize when looking for jobs? Do you see yourself continuing the blogging reflection process for other courses or internships? Do you see yourself wiping it clean and completely redesigning it? Do you see yourself using a DIFFERENT space now that you’ve had this experience? Are there pages you would like to create to fill out the domain such as an “About” page or a “Contact Me” page. Write a blog post and tag it “Reflection.”

The best way to present your work to future employers is through a concise page that gives examples of your work. If you don’t already have a page, create one titled “Portfolio.” If you have created a portfolio page, such as a writing portfolio page, for another course, you can use this page. Additionally, if you have a main website that is separate from your PR Pubs blog, it would be preferred that you do this project on THAT website. While you can design this page as you sit fit, the BEST portfolio pages will have:

• A thumbnail of final work
• A short summary of the project. This can be as little as a few sentences but gives the reader an understanding of the “client” (the company or organization it was designed for), the project scope, and the outcome. It’s also in good taste to let the reader know which projects are class projects and which projects are commercial projects.
• A link to your blog post where you did your final reflection on that project. This will give the reader to dig deeper into the project if they wish.

Also make sure your portfolio page is LINKED to from your menu.

This will be the last week we will be reading Designing for Emotion. As you will see, we will not be finishing the book. That means this week you can choose what chapter you wish to write your blog post on. Write a blog post about Designing for Emotion. Beyond the usual contextualization that blog posts should have, simply answer these two questions:

1. What is one thing in this chapter that you agree with?

2. What is one thing in chapter you disagree with?

If you feel like you need extra credit, you are more than welcome to write blog posts on other chapters we haven’t read to earn extra credit.

Nope, don’t do it. We’ll save that for the very end.
