2.1: Pinterest & Draft #1
Since I was late on the draw for this blog post, I’ve kept it pretty brief!
The following boards reflect some of the visual research I’ve done regarding my designs for MHA Houston.
Business Card – Draft #1
In this section, we were asked to submit a first draft of a business card design for our chosen organization. My initial business card draft does not touch on much else other than typography. I wanted to get a feel for how to compliment the typography of the logo and what overall look I’d go for. With my plans to add pattern or shapes of some sort, I decided to avoid extremes with my typesetting. Of course, as the flow of the rest of the design comes to life, the type will adjust to suit the composition.
Generally, I’m neither upset by nor impressed with my design. It’s fairly standard and borrows the visual language of the logo, including flush right type. I will likely try branching out into using a serif, applying the colors in different ways, and seeing if any patterns compliment the logo as is. If not, I might take some liberties with the logo design and break it into parts, then see what I can do from there.
