Design Blitz

C O L O R Like I mentioned in my first blog, I have a serious sweet tooth. So today, I was leaving Gaylord and walked past a vending machine. I have this reputation of being “the most indecisive person ever”, but something about my decision today was relatively easy. I proceeded to walk outdoors, holding this … Continue reading Design Blitz →

“Choose your words wisely; Your typeface even more so.”

Justin Seeley describes typeface as the “glue that holds design together” during his introduction video, What is Typography, on Lynda.com (from which I’ve also taken the title of this post). Furthermore, he says that type is all around us and it permeates our visual communication in almost every aspect on a  daily basis. Because typography is

Shoot the Serif: BANG BANG BANG! I don’t know if it was the repetitive gun-shot noise or my personal competitiveness, but I for some reason really enjoyed this game! The simple word “coffee” written on this mug tells the story of the consumer. The easy-to-read, big font describes the attitude of “I can’t get anything … Continue reading Design Blitz: Typography →

Typography Games

In order to practice my typography skills, I played all the typography games that Professor Croom recommended to the class! I thought that this was a fun way of learning the difference between serif and sans serif, fonts and spacing. Here is a little bit more about my three favorite games: Shoot the serif: This was … Continue reading Typography Games
