Typography!
Shoot the Serif: BANG BANG BANG! I don’t know if it was the repetitive gun-shot noise or my personal competitiveness, but I for some reason really enjoyed this game! Trying to decide which font was serif was somewhat easy for me at the beginning. In contrast, as the game went on and there were more letters to chose from, I found myself struggling to find all of the serif letters. I thought this was an exciting, unique game to teach students the difference between serif and sans serif fonts.
Type connection:This game made me LOL (literally laugh out loud). I never thought about fonts having a “story.” After playing this game, it made me wonder if the fonts I choose on a daily basis describe me as an individual. After playing this game I will now automatically review people’s font choices and relate it back to their personal characteristics. If I could describe myself as a font, I would choose Bradley Hand: I believe that this font says I am fun yet organized, girly yet adventurous and all over the place yet very organized. Thank you Bradley for understanding me so well….
Poster Letters: Either I haven’t seen a lot of movies or I am a really bad guesser (or maybe a mixture of both if I am being completely honest). I thought this game was very fun and tested your attention skills. I realized two things after playing this game:
1. Fonts have the abilitiy to make a name for themselves
2. I need to pay more attention to details
Overall, I thought this game showed the importance of typography. I also think it would be very entertaining to watch a movie critique play this game!
