22 July – Reflection

Howdy there!

I am exhausted. On top of my full time work schedule, I am taking two online classes, and for the passed two days I have been moving out of my apartment. So, what I am trying to say is that I hope my blog posts have not been too poor in quality (Because I know my designs have been).

This week, I worked on identifying and understanding my second stakeholder. I chose the parents of prospective students as my second stakeholder. I chose them because they have a direct influence over my first stakeholder – the prospective student.

Here is my direct mailer draft for my second stakeholder:

Honestly the more I look at the front, the more I like it. The back still needs some major style points but I will continue to work on my designs until they are due on the 27th. I really want to create something that would catch my eye if it was laying on the counter.

This week, I also made a few edits to my direct mailer for my first stakeholder. I wanted to streamline the back with less text and this is the result:

When it comes to Photoshop vs. In Design, I will start off by saying that Photoshop is much more difficult for me. I thought the tools and actions were going to be relatively similar between the two programs but they are not. I feel like Photoshop is more advanced. There is more emphasis on layers and painting in Photoshop. I feel like I am working with a digital canvas when I work with Photoshop. In Design, however I feel like I am working with a document. Everything is more organized and structured. I like that. Hopefully I will become more comfortable with Photoshop as I play with my second direct mailer over the weekend.

This week was pretty crazy. I plan to kick it back into gear now that I am done moving out of my apartment. Look out for my updated direct mailers over the weekend! Until next time, Hasta Luego!
