3.2 Reflection

For my public relations publications course we are asked to write reflection posts from time to time, throughout the multiple different steps and processes within an assignment. This weeks reflection is regarding the two direct mailers we have been working on over the last few weeks and the thoughts surrounding them.

  1. My first stakeholder helped me define my second stakeholder because it was a more specific route. I knew I wanted to do one that was specifically tailored to a group of organizations on campus, and one that was a little more broad but not generic. I know that Gaylord College is predominately females, wight he PR department having  a handful of males in my courses, so I figured after doing a direct mailer on sorority recruitment that Gaylord would be a great fit.
  2. My design has changed multiple times throughout the drafts. Different factors influence my decision to change from peers opinions, to just taking a step back and looking at how it looks from afar. I’ve also compared it to official direct mailers to see the level of professionalism.
  3. Personally I like Photoshop better, but it does have tons of similarities with InDesign. InDesign and Photoshop both require you to click not he certain object to edit it, whether it’s clicking the layer or drawing the selection box around it/clicking the box. Photoshop is definitely easier to operate with it having the layers all spaced out on the side, almost like it allows you to stay organized.
