7 August – Reflection
Sooooo….How ’bout that ride in? This week, we were asked to finish up our newsletters. When we were first assigned this project, I was very excited. I enjoy working with In Design, so I was looking forward to the project. Once I had made my dummy layout, I started to realize that this design project was going to be quite difficult. I gathered my pictures and images thinking that they would just pop right into my dummy layout. No, just no. I had to do a lot of reworking and it was exhausting trying to find stories that were a good length for my newsletter. After many hours of finding the right stories and reworking, I was finally done. (There truly isn’t a better feeling than completing a long project. Whew!) My response to my work is that I am very pleased. I wish I would have had more time for a little more tweaking but all in all, I like it! I think it looks clean, cool and easy to follow. I also really like my gray, white, black color scheme. I think it looks classic. My target public affected my overall strategy for my design and overall content because I wanted my newsletter to be appealing to diverse group of readers because Netflix has a diverse set of customers. I think the readers of my newsletter will find my color scheme and fonts to understated but effective. Below is the PDF link to my project and I hope you like it!
