Just a smidge about me

Thank you for visiting my very first blog page. My name is Erin. I am a Public Relations student at The University of Oklahoma. I am excited to announce I am graduating a semester early in December 2016. I have less than a year of college left and I am, to be frank, scared out of my mind. I am 21 years old and don’t have a plan of action after graduation. But I know I am not alone. Well, maybe a little, since my family who was 3 hours away from me in my hometown McKinney, Texas, is now moving to Hillsboro, Oregon. Sounds awesome right? But I am definitely feeling more and more adult now that they are what seems like a million miles away.

When I have time, which is not often, to forget about school and everything else I love reading. This is my book of choice right now:

I enjoy going to Stillwater to visit my boyfriend, Cameron, who goes to the yucky orange school Oklahoma State. Don’t judge him for making that school choice. We met freshmen year of high school and have been going strong ever since! He’s pretty great.

College is hard. The future is scary. I’m glad I have family and friends that support me. They’re the reason I still smile on days where its not so easy. (Also unexpected selfies are fun).

I like to think I am creative. I took an Art Therapy class last semester and learned that I love colors and sketching. I believe I have an eye for detail. While doing my marketing internship last summer for a country club I was asked to design and send out newsletters to the club members. I didn’t realize how much thought goes into layout, font, color, pictures etc. until I started designing. I am eager to learn more about InDesign and Photoshop and gain skills so I can create more.

Might sound cheesy or lame but life motivates me. It can be taken away from you so quickly! I believe in happiness and being kind to one another.
