A Slightly Different Reflection

When my class and I were asked to create two direct mailers that appealed to two different audiences, I automatically knew I would use Greek life and football as my themes. I came into this project with more confidence than I did with the business card and letter head because I had more of a idea on how direct mailer looked. since I received hundreds of them in high school.

Truthfully, the direct mailer looked much better in my head rather than on the computer because I am still learning how to use Photoshop properly. It was almost like I was my own worst enemy. Knowing how you want something to look like but you don’t know how to actually create it was terrible, but I am proud of what I accomplished even if they do not look exactly like how I wanted them to.

My first draft of my women recruitment mailer compared to my newest draft is day and night. I am much more proud of my newest design and feel like I learned so much from this project because I had to be creative and think outside the box. I still believe that my football direct mailer could be much better, with time I will continue to work on it so I can use it in the future.

If I had to do this project again, the only thing I would do differently is to research more direct mailers before starting. During this project I started with a general idea and little research and when I found myself in a rut I would of course confide in Google, where hundreds of better ideas covered my computer screen. At least I can say I learned my lesson.
