Action Plan for My Domain
Having my own personal domain is something that I have significantly underestimated until this past semester. A few weeks ago when I was applying for summer internships I decided to add my domain address to my resume and I truly believe that it helped me stand out from other candidates. One employer even complimented me and told me how nice it was to see someone have their own distinguished and sophisticated website at such an early stage in my career. I definitely see myself continuing to blog and post samples of my work after the semester is over. I started a blog last summer and admittedly haven’t done the best job of keeping up with it, but now that I have my own domain I hope to really utilize it a lot more.
I am fairly happy with the way my domain is starting to look and don’t think I would ever wipe it clean. However I would like to implement an “About Me” page as well as a “Hire Me” page. This way employers can go straight to my website and see my resume, projects I’ve written and designed and can hopefully contact me about future internships or jobs. I am very thankful for my domain page as well as all the projects I’ve had the opportunity to complete this semester because I believe it has made me a stronger PR practitioner. I can’t wait to share the link with my friends and family now that the semester is finally over and all the hard work has been completed!
