Blogging Case study
For this blogging case study I chose Livestrong. On their main site viewers have the option to read blogs that are posted on the daily. Livestrong’s bloggers post about topics related with nutrition, fitness and health. The blog’s voice is very conversational by the way “I” is used, it also helps create that connection between the reader and the blogger.

This blog has a lot of strengths, I am using a specific example of a post done by blogger Robyn Youkilis. She wrote her blog as if she was talking to a friend or family member. One thing I noticed is that she uses the pronoun “I” in the introduction which helped created that friendly vibe. This is unique to me because a lot of time when you read an article over working out it is strictly informative. For a lot of people working out can be a touchy subject so I think Robyn does a good job of making the reader feel comfortable by letting them know they are not alone on their journey. Another strength was she offers the five solutions to eating healthy in a simple but yet well-explained way.
The blog doesn’t have any weaknesses that standout to me. Livestrong’s mission of improving the quality of life for people is shown through their chosen bloggers post like Robyn.
Some things I learned from this blog that I would apply to my own work is to use catchy headlines to get viewers to want to learn more. Once I do that, I need to always offer solutions to any problems that I may bring up while remembering to write in a simple way that will get my readers feeling connected with me and the purpose of the post.
