Bootcamp Blues

This week we were asked to acquaint ourselves with Photoshop and InDesign through multiple Lynda tutorials.

To say I grossly underestimated the amount of time it would take to complete these tasks would not even begin to cover it. BUT, although it took me a very long time to complete the tutorials, they didn’t feel arduous or unnecessary. I could spend forever tidying up images in Photoshop and playing around with all of the tools and abilities of InDesign.

It’s been several years since I had used any Adobe design programs (The last was Illustrator and that was a good 7 years ago), so naturally the products weren’t exactly top of the line and I had to go back and reference the videos a few times when I got lost. However, I know it will all begin to feel more natural through repetition.

I think that because I have had experience with Adobe programs before I wasn’t too put off by how lengthy the process can be to produce professional quality work. I’m a very detailed person so I like meticulous work anyways. I look forward to delving deeper and building some design skills for myself.
