Business Card and Letterhead

Wow!

My business card and letterhead projects are finally complete. It was a long road to get there, but I’m pleased with how they turned out. For the first submitted project, we were asked to create a business card and letterhead for an organization of our choice. If you’ve been following along with my blog, you already know my chosen organization is my sorority, Alpha Chi Omega. I created the business card and letterhead for our local chapter adviser, Jamie Feisal.

Doing a draft of both first was much easier. After the Google Hangout with Professor Croom, I got valuable feedback and made some changes. I think one of the most important lessons to take away from these projects is to play around before deciding what looks best. I changed effects and transparency multiple times before settling on the final product. InDesign is so new to me, so this was a good way to explore the program and perfect my project.

As soon as I finished the business card and letterhead, I sent pictures of them to Jamie. She loved them! It made me happy knowing I pleased the “client”. I would really like to use InDesign again for other projects, such as my own business card or a resume.

I think one of my biggest challenges during this project was moving the elements around in a way that was pleasing to the eye. Balance played a huge role in the design and it took getting a few opinions to settle on something I liked.

I feel pretty confident in using InDesign now. Of course I have questions and need help sometimes, but I have a better grasp on how to use it and would feel comfortable using it again. First project is in the books! Curious how the business card and letterhead look finalized? See below!
