Business Card Design

The assignment was to create my first draft of a business card for my  organization.  I was initially eager to work on the assignment, but once I had been working on it for over an hour I began to feel quite discouraged. It’s as if I can identify a creative and appealing business card but designing one from my own creative juices was difficult. I think it’s much more difficult to put elements together and make sure there’s not too much activity going on, while also not keeping it so simple that it’s boring.  I realize that studying colors will be important for me, to really see what colors contrast well with each other to make an appealing color scheme. Also, going back and playing the font relationship game will be important because I can combine different fonts that carry compatible elements.  This allows for some variety while not appearing random or contrasting.
