Business Card Draft

This week, we were asked to choose an organization that we would like to work for (or have some tie to), do some research on the organization and its competitors, brainstorm design options for this organization, and create a business card for the organization.

I chose the City Rescue Mission, a nonprofit in Oklahoma City that provides services to the homeless. As a nonprofit minor, I am very interested in working for a nonprofit, and I would prefer one like the City Rescue Mission. I was excited to get to create something as if I were working for this organization since it is a job I could actually see myself having some day.

I enjoyed creating the business card. I wanted everything to be as simple as possible so that it did not take away from the mission of the organization. I think it is so important to make sure that a nonprofit’s business card reflects the ideals of the nonprofit because the organization does has to relate to the mission and vision.

I do not think the business card draft is the best it can possibly be yet, but it is a work in progress, and I hope that getting feedback on it will inspire me to make it more effective for the organization I am “working” for. Hopefully some of the design skills I have learned over the past few weeks are apparent in my business card draft. I am still not 100% comfortable with InDesign, but I am learning, and that is what matters.

So at the end of the week, this is what the draft of my business card for the City Rescue Mission looks like.
