Business Card Draft Reflection

Ah, the business card…one of our first projects for PR Publications! Luckily this was only a draft so I have more time to perfect the business card. I didn’t think it was too difficult, except turning my vision into a reality was somewhat difficult. Like I showed on the Inspiration Pinterest Board, a lot of my ideas would require a lot of graphic design experience. I’m starting out slow so I can better understand how I want to lay out the card and images.

Of course, I have a lot to add to my business card draft. But it’s a start. I made sure to include the Alpha Chi Omega logo as well as the contact information for the chapter adviser, who the business card is made for. I knew I wanted to incorporate a symbol of Alpha Chi Omega into the design, so it was really convenient to find a clear image of a carnation and repeat that.

I think I was somewhat stressed and tense about this project because it is difficult to get started in the InDesign world. However, as soon as I got started it wasn’t as bad as I predicted. I think I imagine all of the InDesign projects to be a lot more difficult than they really are, but breaking them down in pieces (or drafts) proves to be helpful. That way, I can get feedback and change things if they aren’t up to my standard of perfection! Here is a picture of what my business card draft looks like:

Like I said, it’s nowhere near perfection but I think it’s a good start. PS, sorry it’s hard to tell where the lines are- it’s supposed to be a white card!
