Camp Cho-Yeh: Research

In my PR Publications class, we have been assigned a project where we choose any company or organization and we are going to design a business card and letterhead for that organization. I chose to do my project over Camp Cho-Yeh because it is a place that I have grown up going to as a camper and now as a staff member for the past 3 summers.

We were asked to do some initial research on the company so that we can better understand their mission and what their brand should be. We have been using the Analysis-Synthesis Bridge Model, which looks like this:

For the purposes of this post, I will only be focusing on the part of the table that is surrounded by the pink rectangle. This section of the analysis looks at the organization’s mission and the services that it provides.

Camp Cho-Yeh’s mission is to be “a place where Jesus Christ transforms lives through meaningful relationships and outdoor adventures”. They provide the summer camp experience for hundreds of kids ages 6-17 every summer.

The main competitors that Cho-Yeh has are other camps that are similar to them, such as: Pine Cove, Sky Ranch, Kanakuk and Camp Ozark.

Camp Cho-Yeh’s most dominant attitude is to relate everything that they do at camp and in the public back to the gospel and to bring people to know Jesus better. This attitude is shown in everything that they put out for the public to see as well as their mission statement.
