Celebrating Birthdays
The Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals differ from other nonprofit organizations regarding children’s health in the sense of how they raise money. You don’t often see commercials talking about CMNH as you would with Make A Wish or St. Jude. Instead, a huge fundraising strategy they take is being involved in the younger generations. They are partnered with Dance Marathon, and have day-long fundraising events that get high schools and colleges coming together to raise money for the Miracle hospital in their state. They have large connections to IHOP and Dairy Queen, Loves Travel Stops, etc. that donate money every year, as well. It is not just one specific hospital, but a nation-wide movement to save the lives of children in each and every state. Their message is trying to emphasize that the money they raise each and every year is all for the kids. The CMNH help thousands of children every day throughout the country, and I think that’s what they need to continue to focus on in the future. They are an organization striving to let more and more children live to see another birthday. In my opinion, that’s what the balloon represents to me. Allowing each child and family member celebrate birthday after birthday thanks to the efforts of this specific cause.
