Celebration!
For my summary of learning project, I created a video that included both live and animated media. It was a fun, though somewhat challenging experiment I conducted through a website called Moovly. I really enjoyed working with the software. It reminded me of a video version of Canva.
Through my project, I decided to create somewhat of a metaphor by comparing running a marathon to the creative process I dove into through PR Publications. I showed how important it was to dedicate my time and start slowly with small things, which will eventually lead up to ultimate satisfaction. Usually, people don’t have the gift of getting up one day and deciding to run a marathon. Instead they have to start small and build their way up. The process can seem tedious and discouraging at first, but over time your body and muscles develop so that you have the strength to get through those 26.2 miles. In the creative process, I discovered that created publications in this class was often much more difficult than I expected. I didn’t realize how much discovering my own process was so much different than trying to mimic someone else’s. I often challenged my own creativity, feeling that no matter what I changed, the result just didn’t look or feel right. However, I realized that as I continued to push through that wall of discouragement, and focus on the small details, I got better and better, and didn’t hate my results so much.
I’m beyond excited to continue using the skills and tools I’ve been developing this semester. I feel like someone just opened the door to an undiscovered planet, and there’s lots of exploring yet to do. I learned a lot about myself and how I need to be better at turning assignments in early and being a better manager of how I distribute my time among classes.
Overall, I was absolutely amazed at what I learned in this class, and I would probably take it again if I could. Thanks, Croom!
