Chapter 1 – Designing for Emotion
This week we were also asked to read Chapter 1 and pick out topics that we agreed and disagreed with.
In this Chapter, I read something about how people may prefer to buy products from a craftsmen who works alone and does his own work over purchasing products from a busy factory that makes thousands of items a day. I somewhat agree with this just because a lot of people may feel more comfortable purchasing from a craftsmen because it had more effort put into making the item.
On that note, however, I can disagree with the statement that the products made from a craftsmen are better quality than a factory. A factory has updated equipment that allows them to make complex items in a shorter amount of time. These machines are used and tested everyday, while an individual craftsman is possible of making mistakes and not making as many products a factory can.
