Chapter 2

One of the first parts of the chapter is title “the world is our mirror.” At first I thought I would agree with this section, but once I read past the first sentence, I realized I both agreed and disagreed.

The section describes us humans as narcissists saying that in anything we see, we will implant our face into the item. I do not agree with this portion. I don’t think that humans are “narcissists seeking that which we know best – ourselves.”

But, the chapter goes on to say that our instincts also come from our desire to be emotionally connected to others. They connect this to design by saying that photos in human faces can influence an audience. That is why I have chosen to add pictures with people on them to the direct mailers.
