Chapter 2 – Designing for Emotion

After a great amount of work put into our direct mailers, we were able to relax and gain some valuable knowledge about design in chapter two of Designing for Emotion.

The second chapter, Designing for Humans, discusses why humans have a natural instinct for looking at an object and noticing it’s natural beauty and aesthetic. I agree with the point that humans have a natural instinct to detect patterns in everyday life. For example while I was studying in Italy for a semester, I went to many historic museums and art galleries. The constant in all of the art pieces was that they all had the pattern of having a focus on the individual by giving each character a humanistic value. The patterns that artists such as Sandro Botticelli, Donatello and Michelangelo used were putting  the same expressions, colors and shapes in Renaissance Art.

I am having a hard time finding something to disagree with in this book. I could try to make something up but this book is spot on.
