Chapter 2: Designing for Humans

In the second chapter of the book Designing for Emotion by Arron Walter, the author discusses how emotions play a part in our designs. One thing that I strongly agree with in this chapter is that contrast is crucial when designing any type of publication. Visual contrast will help you appeal to the viewer, but cognitive contrast, or creating a design that contrasts with your competitors, will help your target audience to set you apart from others. One thing that I did not agree with is that we constantly look for ourselves in other things. Although I understand it is important to create something that represents a version of ourself, looking for ourselves in other peoples work is not something I feel like everyone does.
