Chapter 3
Reading through chapter three there were many different ups and downs I have with this author. For one, I disagree with the way she feels about the Human- computer interaction. I believe when someone is online, they are looking for an experience to benefit themselves. Quick, easy and non-human help. People like a design because it makes things pretty, but it does not make things function any better. The author is saying that making things feel like a human is on the other end is important to her and to people who are looking at the design. Personally, I believe if there was a poll taken, most people would want to receive the information rather then constantly feel like a human is trying to persuade them.
That being said, I do understand the emotions are a way that people remember things and possibly come back to them. History of design has taken significant roles is the way things are produced and remembered. A persons personality is always going to shine through if they are developing a website, such as the color schemes and icons. I like how the author eventually touches on the fact that peoples personalities can clash and create a sort of barrier between the producer and consumer.
