Chapter 7
Agree
“Though our instincts might tell us that it’s risky being different, the greater risk is in being the same as your competitors, as you make it harder for people to understand why your brand is the better choice.” – Completely agree with the author. Whenever a brand is to afraid to risk their bran or their form of campaigning or advertising they have to do it. Because not taking risks and being the same as your competitors will neither benefit you nor ruin you. So companies have to always take that leap of faith, because in the end if a good strategy is put into practice then the reward will be tremendous. Always think and do a lot of research, but once the right tools are in place the taking a risk is much better.
Disagree
“Not every customer is right for your business. Some will be so high maintenance that they will cost you more than they con- tribute. That can be a real morale and financial drag.” -I agree that not all costumers are right for the business. But I don’t believe that those people can become a financial drag. Because whenever the company has a good PR strategy or a marketing plan to reach the target audience, of course money is going to be involved, but if their is a certain type of segment that is harder to get maybe the rand can come up with better strategies to reach them. For example by getting to know them better and finding better approaches. That way the brand won’t have to invest thousands of dollars trying to reach them in useless ways.
