Chapter Four: What I Like About You

I thoroughly enjoyed chapter four of designing for emotion because it focused on case studies, and I learn best from example and by doing so it has been super insightful and helpful on a personal level. I loved the entire sections about the new twitter, photojojo and mail chimp.  I think that those three particular studies (photojojo especially for me) were really cool ways to look at how framing and simple, small changes can really benefit the user experience. The only thing I didn’t like about the chapter was the section about wufoo, mostly because I’ve had to use wufoo what feels like one million times in my life and I find it to be a super annoying tool. I completely see how the things that they’ve done are innovative and useful and really beneficial for research purposes, but I just have a really bad taste in my mouth for their brand generally because of the overuse of wufoo in collegiate students’ lives. Overall, really cool chapter that I actually liked reading. I think the thing I appreciate the most about this book is that I read things in it that are written in plain language and that are actually applicable to the things I’m doing now and will be doing in the future, so kudos to the author for writing a real good book.
