Chapter Seven: Designing for Emotion
I choose to read chapter seven, risks and reward for the last chapter of the semester. As said by Ricky Bobby, you have to risk it to get the biscuit.
The first sentence of the chapter sold me when it said, “Showing emotion in design, as in life, is risky, ” which couldn’t be more true. I completely agreed with the point that if your audience has complained about your brand or product isn’t like anything else on the market than you are doing your job well and the people who don’t understand your point of view will come around one day. Being different and doing different things is a risk but the outcome is greater than being exactly like your competitors.
Honestly, I didn’t disagree with anything within this chapter. You should start small and work your way up while progressively enhancing your emotional design while convincing everyone that your choice are right, including your boss. Your brand is supposed to connect you to people and by using design you can visually connect with people through content and sincerity.
