Chapter Three DFE Review

This week we read Chapter 3 in Designing for Emotion.

I really liked how the author talked about personality in design. I completely agree with this concept – you can see it throughout history. From artist to artist, from period to period, everything is different and everything takes on the personality of the artist. No artist is alike, and the same goes for pieces of artwork. After studying artists, you can tell which piece is their work as well. Their personalities really are shown through their work.
However, I don’t like the thought of sitting down and creating a persona for your website. I would like to think that your work could speak for itself and create a persona for you. Though I do understand that it’s important. Maybe after a few weeks of a consistent website would it really be necessary to link everything together with a single persona if one was not overtly obvious with your work alone.
Overall, this was another great chapter.
