Communications Strategy

So now it’s time to actually get down to what the artwork should convey for Camp Cho-Yeh’s public. As I was looking through all of their content and the content of their competitor, Pine Cove, I came to a (sort of) conclusion. Using the analysis model that I used before, I was able to answer some questions as to what I want my design to look like, or at least convey.

Basically I thought about the fact that camp is about the kids. With most campers being around middle school-aged, it is safe to assume that most of the campers are concerned with modern trends, as most middle schoolers and high schoolers are. In order to appeal to this audience, Cho-Yeh needs to appeal to the fun and trendiness of this age group. It’s all about cleverness in the captions and “artsyness” in the pictures when it comes to social media these days, so Cho-Yeh needs to keep up with the trends.

This being said, I think that the designs for Cho-Yeh need to play up the great outdoorsy things that they have to offer because going camping and being outside are very in right now. Also the whole “trendy hipster Christian” is very in, and most of the counselors fit this mold anyways, so they might as well play it up!

Cho-Yeh has a lot going for them already with the trends going the way they are right now, they just need to learn how to play into what they have and maybe be a little more creative.
