Communications Strategy

For my Public Relations Publications class, I’m currently working on designing a business card for the athletic brand, Lululemon. I will be using this blog post as a space to brainstorm ideas based on the following questions:

  • What kind of visual language will I use?
  • Will the visuals be type or image driven?
  • What do the type and images need to mean?
  • What connotations do they need to have?

After reviewing these questions, I began to try and attempt to visualize what I wanted my business card to look like. When it comes to the visual language of Lululemon, the company uses many bright colors when it comes to their different products.

I believe that this business would be best if it is image driven rather than type driven. The Lululemon logo is very simple, but the images used for their advertisements are very impressive and could possibly be used on the back of the business card. I’m not positive if this would be too overwhelming on a business card or not. If I find that this is the case when I test this out, I may end up going with a more type driven business card.

The meaning behind this business card needs to be centered around Lululemons mission of “creating components for people to live longer, healthier, fun lives.” I want to make sure that this mission is presented through this business card.

I want this business card to be exciting, and eye catching to those who see it. I think that a mixture of colors will need to be used throughout this business card in order to make it happy and that those who wear Lululemon can fulfill their goals of living a healthy lifestyle while staying active in their Lululemon attire.
