Competitor Analysis

To better understand our organizations, my publications class conducted research and created Pinterest boards to visualize the reach of our competitors.

I was actually surprised to find that there are competitors our there for the Student Board program. Other than the usual high school activities that would compete for the students time, there is also other organizations that provide financial literacy resources to teens and even have some of them present on their Board of Directors.

The MAJOR difference in the Kansas City Fed’s Student Board program is the reach that the program has in Oklahoma City and beyond. Other organizations are based out of other states, while this program is specific to our area. The students who participate in the program are learning far more than financial literacy, even though that is the focus.

The image of the program should differ from competitors by showing that it is a high honor for the students to participate on the Student Board of Directors. The message is that understanding finances and the economy is important in any field they choose after high school–this program prepares them for that.
