Competitor Analysis

After researching news stations around the OKC and Norman area, I found that KTOK and KOKC are the most relevant competitors for KGOU. For this assignment, I’m analyzing the  differences between KGOU and its competitors.

1. How does your organization differ from its competitors?

KGOU differs from the competitors in two major ways. First, both KTOK and KOKC provide more of a focus on local news, whereas KGOU features both world news and local news. Secondly, KGOU provides listeners with jazz, blues and world music programs on the weekends.

2. How should your organization’s image and message differ from its competitors?

Because KGOU provides news/talk that is more worldly than regional, their demographic is more broad. KGOU’s programming and image should reflect the diverse audience they have.
