I focused primarily on the philanthropies of each individual sorority used in the Pinterest board when analyzing Delta Gamma’a Competitors. A sorority’s philanthropy is usually one of the most publicized and talked about aspects of the organization, and therefore I felt it would be represent the competitors. Delta Gamma is one of the few sororities who actually created and operates their won philanthropy, Service for Sight. Many of the competitors work exclusively with a preexisting company. This could be a positive and a negative. A negative is Service for Sight is not as nationally known as an organization like St. Jude’s Research Hospital or the Make a Wish Foundation, but being the name of the philanthropy allows for Delta Gamma to work how they wish to, rather than relying on the organization. For example, Toms shoe company is paired exclusively with Delta Gamma on a line of eyewear that benefits Service for Sight and has the same one for one program as Toms shoes.
