Deep Thoughts About Business Cards and Letterheads
Over the last several weeks, I’ve been tasked with creating a business card and letterhead for the organization of my choice. I decided to make them for my employer, Regal Entertainment Group. Regal is the largest theater chain in the nation by number of screens.
It’s been a fun and informative process. I feel that I have a much better grasp on using InDesign creatively.
While my half-assed first effort at creating a business card was nothing to boast about, it sure makes my final product look better. I decided to steer away from Regal’s actual logo and create one of my own, a simple black-and-yellow crown design that, I hope, evokes luxury, sophistication and excellence.
While I wanted my letterhead to be straightforward, I think I was able to creatively incorporate the motifs of the business card and evoke the movies themselves with the film reels. I want the movies themselves to be foremost on the mind of anyone who attends a film at Regal Cinemas, as they should be.
I’m pleased with my final output. I know it’s not the fanciest thing in the world, but I’m learning.
It would be nice to have one more draft with it, as my first draft was more or less a waste of time that I ended up scrapping completely. But at least it got me moving in the right direction.
Looking forward to whatever comes next.
