Defining Stakeholders
For my public relations publication course we re required to create a direct mailer for our design assignment #2. The fist part, other than understanding the assignment, of the project is to define and declare your stakeholder. When it comes to choosing a stakeholder, multiple factors need to be considered. We discussed in class that it’s completely irrelevant and not cost effective to target the entire graduating population of high schoolers, since the main purpose of the direct mailer is to recruit new students to attend the university upon graduating.
For my stakeholders, I decided to target incoming freshman females to encourage them to participate in the sorority recruitment process, and the incoming freshman class as a whole to encourage enrollment in Gaylord courses and pursuing degrees offered by Gaylord college. The statement that pinpoints these stakeholder is as follows:
Stakeholder 1:
- 17-19 years of age, females who have been accepted into the University of Oklahoma
Stakeholder 2:
- 17-19 years of age, ACT/SAT scores accepted, participation in journalism related courses in high school
