Defining Stakeholders

This week in my Public Relations Publications class we were assigned our second large project of the semester. We were told we will be creating a unique direct mailer for potential OU students. We were asked to analyze and choose two different stakeholders, and create a design that will be appealing to the two different identified stakeholders. In this post I will be doing a little brainstorming on who I want my stakeholders to be and what my messages will be for each group.

My first group of stakeholders will be North American Females aged 16-20 who have already met the prerequisites to be accepted to OU.  For this public I want to focus my direct mailer on the OU Panhellenic community. I want this mailer to be fresh and clean but also have some girly aspects. I also would like to include the OU Panhellenic logo in this mailer, to encourage them to join this strong community of women on OU’s campus.

My second group of stakeholders are High School sophomores, juniors and seniors aging from 16-18 with test scores or current GPA scores that would be accepted by OU’s standards. For this audience I definitely want a direct mailer that appeals to girls and boys. This direct mailer would showcase the campus lifestyle and encourage potential students to tour our beautiful campus. This mailer will also have links that would be helpful to potential new students, such as the universities home link and a link the the application process.

I am excited to create something that I would have loved to get in the mail as a potential student!
