Design Blitz
I went through my apartment and found various things to use for this project. Some of the things I found are a little out of the box, but I thought they would work anyways.
Color:
The first item I found was something that would fit under the color category. Lilly Pulitzer always has colorful designs with her planners, clothing and other various items. I think this item is effective at covering the color category.
Typography:
Typography is where you arrange type to make it visually appealing. In this quote, the type is the same but the size of the type is various to give effect to certain parts of the poem.
Dominance:
I chose this picture as a dominance theme, because the girl is placed up at the front and off to the side. In an example in the power point, the same type of style was used but in an office setting. The first thing your eye sees is the girl, and then you read the text to find out why she is so powerful looking and the way she is.
Rhythm:
Rhythm is a regular pattern. That could easily be anything right next to you, so I chose my shower curtain. It switches from blue to brown circles regularly.
Unity:
This one seems a little out of the box, but I saw unity in the design of the turtle. The way the colors combine and go together, unifies the whole piece, in my opinion.
