Design Blitz

For this assignment I decided to find items in my home and also incorporate items from outside of my home. It’s awesome how I now have a true appreciation for design and what it takes to fundamentally create professional layout.

 

The first item I chose was a flyer for a party that was held in Austin, Texas during SXSW. This flyer did a great job of using typography and balance to great a visually appealing design. 

 

The second item I found did a great job of using color. The purple, red and yellow did a great job of attracting the consumers eye’s without causing too much distraction.

 

 

The third item that I found was a box that the iPhone 6 comes in. The box did a great job of using white space and a minimalistic design. Apple is known for taking the simple approach of not using too much in their advertisements and products.

 

 

The fourth item that I found was a Verizon sign located in Oklahoma City. The sign did a great job of using balance because it had the symbol that they use along with the name of the company right next to each other.

 

The fifth item that I found was a pack of Wrigley’s Doublemint Gum. The design on this pack of gum did a great job of dominance due to the giant green Doublemint logo located in the center of the pack. The leaves creeping behind the logo also give it a sense of depth  which is very interesting.
