When I first read the directions to this assignment, I imagined that I would have to go all around and take pictures. I realized that there were so many things just around my house that embodied the 6 principals of layout and compositions.

1. I believe this Item embodies the principal of balance, specifically, radial. The main piece in the center, the iPhone Life Proof Case, is surrounded by objects of all different sizes. However, it is still clear that the Ad is for the case.

2. Secondly, I found this item laying in my living room. Although it is a book cover, I see this as a principal of proximity.  In this book cover, all of the parts seem to be separate, but similar at the same time. I believe that each of these items has the ability to stand alone which makes it an ideal object of proximity.

3. Next, this picture, in my opinion, uses repetition with the piece of furniture. It draws the consumers eyes not only to the large jack and jill bathroom counter, but the specifics of the counter as well. Such as color suggestions, styles, formality and exclusivity.

4. This page in a book embodies the principal of white space. I know it seems like I have a lot of books laying around. Well, I do. Similar to the beginning of each chapter, there is a large blank space that takes up about half of the page. Additionally, the K.I.S.S. principal is seen. This page is simple, yet it is still appealing to the reader.

5. Finally, I had to think for a while on which principal I was going to finish this blog post with. I decided on alignment. To my dismay, all of these principals are everywhere I turn, but alignment especially. Nordstrom’s website. Each sale and item on the website is perfectly aligned, making them more accessible to the customers and online shoppers.
