Design Blitz

Each of the pictures above represents one of the design concepts we learned in lesson two. The first picture I have included features some interesting typography. I personally do not care for it, so for me this would be an example of what NOT to do as far as typography goes. To me, it does not reach out and grab the audience/consumer like it should.

The second picture I have included is actually a book cover which features dominance. The perspective on the people in the photo are very close, which speaks to audiences and attracts them to come and read more.

The third picture I have included is actually of our textbook for this class. The cover of this book features minimalism and use of space. The design is very sleek and the title of the book does not take up very much space at all. It leaves plenty of room for the plum color of the cover to shine through.

The fourth picture has to do with color, and is also an example of what not to do. The coloring on the cup makes it difficult to read the copy of the advertisement. As well, the alternate coloring distracts from the message of the organization.

Lastly, the advertisement for the state of Texas has to do with balance. The copy on the ad is proportional on both the top and the bottom, presenting a nice parallel in typography.
