Design For Emotion Ch.7

I finished the book design for emotion by reading chapter 7. This last chapter really emphasized the ownership we have of our creativity. As designers and idea creators we are often shot down with our “big ideas” because someone else’s lack of vision.

The author gave a great advise on how to get your boss to be on the same page of the project as you. Sometimes a small change can be as great as re-doing all of the project. In order to get your ideas at the table the expertise and support of your leader in the company is vey beneficial.

The most important thing to consider in any design is your target audience. When you have that clear in mind and know how each design will help attract them, you’ll be confident and knowledgeable about your persona. Your boss want to hear the creativity and reasoning for a design.

I took from this chapter that confidence is also demonstrated in how you phrase your arguments. One must switch at times vocabulary and be open minded that not everyone is at the level of creativity a designer is with emotions.
